Michelle Rizzi, CPDT-KA
Michelle Rizzi has been a professional pet dog trainer since 2001. Michelle is a nationally Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) and the exclusive trainer for the Humane Society of Utah.
An active member of APDT and IACP, Michelle holds many certificates from seminars and workshops throughout the country, keeping herself abreast of all the latest techniques and discoveries in positive reinforcement training.
In 2002, Michelle received a special H.E.A.L. (Helping to Enrich Animals' Lives) Award from Los Angeles SPCA for her work with neglected and abused animals there. Currently, she volunteers her time at the Utah Humane Society teaching volunteers how to work with the shelter animals to enrich their lives and enhance their adoptability.
Michelle receives many referrals from veterinarians throughout the Salt Lake area, most of the shelters (including Best Friends, No More Homeless Pets, Utah Humane Society, Salt Lake Animal Services, etc.), and most importantly, previous clients.
She has been featured on local TV stations and in the daily newspapers numerous times discussing her training program. Michelle has been the host of a segment on Comcast Cable's "On Demand" called Pet Tips for the past three years.
Several years ago Michelle was sole proprietor of Michelle's Pup Cuts, a grooming salon for dogs in Phoenix, Arizona. Today, as owner of Handle with Care Dog Training in Salt Lake City for the past six years, Michelle specializes in obedience training and behavior modification for all pet dogs using state-of-the-art positive reinforcement methods.
